Eekels helps pump away flood water in England
As you have probably heard, the south and south-west of England have been plagued by heavy flooding for some time now. The water in the Thames, which flows through London, has reached record levels in several places and the soil is completely saturated. Experts do not expect any improvement in the near future and the country will have to deal with strong winds and heavy rainfall again this week.
England has received a great deal of assistance and advice from the Netherlands on how to cope with this level of flooding and limit the resulting damage. For example, a Dutch dike inspection team is already helping by giving British colleagues the benefit of its experience and expertise.
Eekels is also contributing. Our partner in the United Kingdom, Pioneer Pump Solutions was no longer able to meet the unprecedented level of demand for pumps and ordered 15 Betsy 125 pump sets from us. The pumps were shipped the same day for immediate deployment in central England.
