Emergency job: pumps for the new Flevokust transhipment port.

In Lelystad, next to the Maxima Power Station, construction crews are hard at work building the Flevokust Transhipment Port. This port will become a central distribution and transhipment hub for farm produce from Flevoland to international ports. The port is located on major shipping routes that run from the west to the north of the Netherlands with connections to the European transport corridors. This port will strengthen Flevoland’s position as a logistics hub with excellent river and sea access.

It was Friday afternoon at 4pm when we received the call asking how quickly we could deliver and install pumps and pipelines. More specifically, a large cofferdam at the location had to be pumped out. The contractor had reached the limits of his pumping capacity and achieving the completion deadline seemed at risk. No problem for Eekels!

At 2pm on the next day, a Saturday, two 12” Eekels diesel engine pump sets were already hard at work, and the water level had fallen to satisfactory levels. Quickly delivered and installed thanks to Eekels’ transport service and quickly assembled thanks to Eekels assembly team!
