Pump bypass arrangement for water treatment plant in Wijlre

Construction has started on an effluent filtration system at RWZI Wijlre, a large sewage treatment plant. This work has been commissioned by the water board in Limburg, Waterschapsbedrijf Limburg (WBL). The project involves building twenty sand filter units with the accompanying pump sump, metering system, flow meter compartment, control room building and analysis laboratory. A temporary pump bypass arrangement is required for this project.

Hydrostal F-10k pumps

On 23 December, BLM Wegenbouw BV sent us the order for installation of this temporary pumping facility at the water purification plant in Wijlre. The system consists of frequency-controlled Hydrostal F-10k pumps, including piping and a dedicated power supply provided by generators.

Emergency service

The capacity of this pump system is 1450 m3 of sewage water per hour, which is pumped under pressure through a pipeline that includes pipe bridges. The system is configured redundantly and also communicates directly with Eekels’ emergency service so that any faults in the system can be detected and resolved immediately.
